Hi all,
Ive always wanted to get into rc model aircraft and have finally decided to do it. Could anyone tell me the best way to get started and what to look out for. Also if you know of any sites that offer starter packages ? Thanks in advance.

one of the best planes thru out the world to learn on would have to be the easystar from Multiplex, it is fantastic to learn on ,it has 3 channels ,rudder, elevator and throttle, it is electric and can be flowin anywhere anytime,,it has even won awards for being the best learning plane ,,its big and easy to see and there are forums that deal with 100’s of mods one can do to it,,i have one and it is one of the best planes i have ,,,good luck and happy flying ,,,:D

I’ve been out of the R/C modelling loop for a few years now, so might not be up on my facts. However, what you need is a good, stable, preferably four-channel (aileron, elevator, rudder, throttle) training aircraft of a decent size (around 50″ would be fine). Most club trainers are of the high-wing variety (like a Cessna 172, for example), although I did the majority of my flying with a big (63″ span) low-wing plane called a Gangster, which was decked out in Luftwaffe camouflage – and dummy guns! 😀
Go to your local R/C model shop and see what they have in the way of starter deals – most shops will do one, and usually they’ll steer you in the right direction.
Which reminds me, I really must charge up my ParkZone Spitfire and take that out sometime….!
