RCAF Lancaster

Just reading a new book on the Lancaster and came across a pic of an RCAF Lancaster 10, KB889, from a 1971 photo in Ontario. The Caption says this Lancaster was shipped to the Imperial War Museum in Duxford and was restored.

What is the status today of KB889? Any pics anywhere?

I remember seeing G-LANC as she was on a couple of lorries passing through Towcester on the (now old) A43 still in her Canadian markings. She was being accompanied by the Lincoln G-APRJ… Made my day that. I dread to think how long ago that was…

Get out of here!

Lucky guy!

I flew in the Collings’ Foundation B-25J “Tondelayo” last winter, that was pretty neat too!

How was the ride?

FM213 airborne

I was lucky (and wealthy!) enough to fly in FM213 on August 16 this year!

Yes.

If all goes well I should see two on Sunday, one flying, FM213, and one static, KB944!!

Let’s hope for good weather, shall we? 😀

Lancasters in Canada

Here are two of the Lancasters you have in Canada – at Hamilton and at Nanton.

Thanks Peter, good to see her back to life, so to speak. She was in pretty bad shape in the 1971 photo.
