RCAF Nomad 3521 NX-N46 recovery photos and videos – need help finding builder's no.

Guys,

Here is a photo dump site that the DND had up and not sure if anyone posted this. Photos of the recovery and underwater footage. 1000’s of photos taken of the recovery with more remains of the crew found. Other items included two watches, a box of bullets from the Webley found last year, buttons, cap badges etc.

The recovery crew were working so fast they forgot to look for the builder’s plate on the firewall or in the wheel well.

I am in touch with the FAA and trying to get the registration papers for this aircraft that was granted NX-N46. But the FAA is telling me no file exists and I will have to send them the builder/factory serial no. Does anyone have a copy of John Griffin’s RCAF Aircraft and Serials or a copy of this aircraft RCAF Movement Card?

The serial is something like 38-### as this Nomad was the last of the group allocated to Canada.

That engine looks like it went into the water only yesterday! Well done to the RCAF for raising this unique machine and its crew.

Lee NX-Nnn were 93 temp civilian registrations used to ferry 93 A-17A’s to Halifax Nova Scotia on request from France May 1940

The second N is for “Northrop” Source: Air Arsenal North America by Phil Butler

Lee Griffin only lists NX-N46 for this Nomad no construction number given for it or any of the Nomads
