Hi All,
It’s been a long time since I last posted anything on this forum. The last time I ‘looked’ in was Feb 2011, so I guess I’m a bit overdue for another post.
I thought I’d just post one or two random shots from this year and see how we get on.

Hi Neil,
Cheers for posting – some great shots there. I love the monochrome Vulcan and the nighttime DC3. I always enjoy seeing other people’s photos, there’s always something to learn.
You’re right about the Canon 1D iv – my father has one and it’s superb. Sadly I have to make do with an EOS 600D but it’s an impressive enough bit of kit too, I think – with one of his L-series prime lenses on it the 600 can take a very reasonable photo…
I also like the HDR Harrier – not overdone but plenty of detail.
Please keep posting…

I’m cheating on this one, because its a half scale model:diablo:

That RC Tiger Moth was incredible! Was that taken at Rougham by any chance as I was there taking pics as well! That Lightning was exceptional!

Hi All,
A few more to bring us almost up to date. We’re now up to the Canon 1D iv era – love this camera.

Hi All,
A few more pics from the past!

Last ever Harrier flights!

Thought I’d add this 262 shot – it is a model, but a bloomin’ big one!:)

And the next batch…………….

The next 4 pictures are interesting in their own way. the Tonka had been worked on all morning before taking off in the early afternoon with a full payload. It came back nearly an hour later with an undercarriage problem.

A Typhoon was scrambled to go and have a look and see if there was a visible problem.
Everything seemed alright – The Tonka then dumped fuel – all over Lincolnshire:diablo:
Pilot made a perfect landing with no problem.

WOW! Beautiful shots Neil, thanks for sharing. Beautiful colours with the red on blue sky. Really miss the Harrier, retired too soon.

Still with Harriers a few more – Including the final photoshoot – a very sad day.

A little bit of simple Photoshoppery on this one
Also the end of another great aeroplane

And as Scampton is now the closest RAF station to Yours Truly – some Red Arrow pics to finish off with!

Hi All,
Harriers! I love aircraft that have lumps and bumps on their airframe (with the exception of the Mosquito – best looking aeroplane ever, in my book!) – the Harrier fits the bill perfectly. Cottesmore is only 25 minutes down the road, so I have plenty of Harrier pics. We’re now up to the Canon 7D days.

Happy New Year to all,
Neil

Hi WP,
Apologies for a slow reply – been away at the outlaws for Christmas. The Lightning is hanging vertically in the Cosford Cold War Museum. It’s got good company with a Hunter and a Sabre.

Hope everyone has had a good Christmas (hangovers all gone:diablo: ) – hope you all have a Happy New Year,
Neil

I’m cheating on this one, because its a half scale model:diablo:

pictures
Thanks guys for the comments – always appreciated.
I have a lot of catching up to do, so I thought I’d post some pictures from a few years ago up to the present day. The quality of the older pictures isn’t that good as my camera kit then wasn’t a good as it is now.
Really dark conditions – a bit to much for the old Canon 50D to handle well – but it was an awesome afternoon. One which I’ll never forget – an F-15 going past and less than 50ft away – exhilerating is a word that comes to mind!
Burners lit – don’t know how many car and house alarms they set off – quite a few!!!
Best Hurricane display I’ve ever seen – Victory Show 2009.One of these days I might re-visit some of these old pictures and see if I can do a better job now, with CS6. If you guys get bored with these old pictures please let me know.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.
TTFN,
Neil
