Re-vamped de Havilland Canada Buffalo STOL transport??

I was speaking to a RAAF Caribou pilot a couple of weeks ago.
He said he had spoken to a Canadian official at one of the Avalon Air Show stands.
He said that the Canadian had made comment that there is consideration to revamping the de Havilland Canada Buffalo STOL aircraft – encouraged by designs like the C-27J and CN- CN-235 / 295 inability to operate in such short and rough airfields like the Caribou and Buffalo.

Has anyone heard anything along these lines regarding a revamp Buffalo???
