A few pictures from Breighton yesterday for the Real Aero Company Summer fly in and hangar bash. Been a while since I posted here, so please go easy!

Absolutely brilliant pics. A very good reason for me to stop posting my shots until I can get sharp images like yours.
Robbo will probably remind me its about time I spent some money on a proper lens. To afford one I’d have to sell Mrs Merlin70 and I am fairly sure even with the Canon gizmos it won’t be able to do the Washing Ironing Festoon blind making Etc.
Do you think Canon could install an anti wobble device into the missus, that would make long weekends away at airshows easier to return from. It would need several settings. Arrived home broke. Arrived back from shops with more photo or PC kit, p*ssed again.:o

Superb pics. Chris. Mine are on slide film and at the processors. If I get any back that are remotely as good as yours I`ll be well pleased.Enjoyed the show at Breighton and impressed with the nearness of the runway.Great for photos.Plan to go again.

Can’t believe that I almost missed these! You’re a talented bunch! Looked out for you on Sunday Chris… guess the Mrs got the better of you! All the best for your impending addition.

Phenomenal pictures. My sincere congratulations.
The display line set out in CAP403 for events such as this is, for aircraft up to 200 knots display speed, 100 metres MLSD from any spectators plus another 50 metres if doing aerobatics. The runway minimum distance from the crowd is just over 70 metres to cater for the traditional and, apparently immovable, Farnborough layout.
All you photographers seem to have very long lenses………………!!!!!!!!!
Cheers,

Lovely one of the Dove 😀 , saw this one parked next to AACF’s Dove (nearly a Devon, just waiting for the roundels 😀 ), just last week in the hangar. (can two doves be referred to as a breeding pair, lets hope so 😀 😀 )

Just outstanding, Chris. With all due respect to the other photographic “masters” on the forum, these would have to be among the best shots I’ve seen here! Keep them coming, especially to remind those of us in temporary exile what we are missing out on!!

many thanks everyone for the kind words.
Equipment used was a 10D and a 300mm lens, sometimes with a 1.4X converter. Also used a 28-300 and 28-80.

Absolutely fab, great pics Chris.
Can you please give some detail of your equipment?
Trying to break into the quality SLR type digital cameras but with so much choice at different prices at the moment, don’t want to buy something which would not be suitable.
I just find that salesmen seem to be in our local Jessops with no idea on the technical details as they just give the normal blurb.
Thanks.
BP.
