i was searching over the net and i found this on the http://www.realaero.com site. I knew that they have sold there spitfire Mk11 to Peter Teichman, but they have mentioned some other interesting info.
“The Buchรณn will, no doubt, occupy a good deal of his time, as will the Hurricane which is currently undergoing it’s ‘annual’. In addition, RACo have taken delivery of another two Merlins – a 500-45 and a 1650-7. One of these will be a standby replacement, should it be required, for either the Hurricane or the Buchรณn. As for the other Merlin, well that’s another story altogether, all will be revealed shortly!”
Does this mean that the Real Aeroplane company has purshased another aircraft? What aircraft use a Merlin 1650? p-51, Spitfire, Fiat G-59?

It may be funny for a short while but its pretty sad that any sensible comment is lost in a sea of terrible puns and python quotes. Seems to happen to a lot of threads recently.
So does anyone know what is coming to Breighton, if not, im happen to wait patiently.

Not sure if this helps as I’m as lost as most other folk on this thread but it took OFMC 10, yes 10, years to get the La-9 out of China. Scale that up for a Stirling and it must be oooh at least 5 minutes.

This thread has gone mental its a funny read but its more confusing the later i read it,I can’t keep up,So far it looks like we got a Mossie a Stirling and a Merlin Engined Tigermoth for Legends 2005 and a chinese take away to come with that too,Am i right? ๐
The award for maddest thread goes to this one and it all started so simple too.

I’m so pleased that I’m not the only one who has no idea what this thread is now talking about
China–the last great unexplored wilderness for airframes, but we’re not meant to say anything.

I got lost on this thread about 20 posts ago
Are we now talking about the two P-61’s that were in Brisbane?

And they may well put jump-seats in, in the same fashion as the Canadian Lanc, in order to generate revenue from selling rides.
I’d like to see them get that one past the CAA ๐ฎ

Stirling, Bristol Hercules–Oh no we’re back to sleeve valves again.
I suppose they could put four 3350’s into it.
Do you think anyone would notice?๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐
Yes……………………..but not if they were R2600s 3350 with only 14 cylinders and Hamilton props No one would know

Why the T2 at Duxford?
Not another anti TFC forum member.
No, these comments are all in jest and please take them as such.
The TFC are above criticism as far as I’m concerned.
It’s just the T2 is everyones favourite place at DX.
Many Thanks

So Damien are you saying that there is a secrect Stirling project made from China powered by a mixture of R3350’s and Merlins being rebuilt by TFC at Breighton???
By: bentwingbomber - 12th October 2004 at 13:11
Hi Mike
well, the purists will be pouring AVGAS over themselves and lighting it on the grass outside the T2 at Duxford in protest over this one.Beats a normal barbecue I suppose.

Can they wait until it gets a bit colder please?? Maybe if they could scatter themselves about a bit it would be like walking past a row of patio heaters….
By: Andy in Beds - 12th October 2004 at 12:28
Well, let’s face it, the only place one is ever going to get rebuilt is in the States, as no-one over here would take on the task, and that seems to be where this one is headed from the reports. So, in fact R3350s may not be such a bad option, unless they source ex-Bristol Freighter Hercules’ with 4-bladed props. And they may well put jump-seats in, in the same fashion as the Canadian Lanc, in order to generate revenue from selling rides.
