I’ve heard rumours that the Russians are working on rearward-firing AAM’s or AAM’s that can turn very quickly to the 6 o’clock position after forward launch, and that there are a couple of Flanker variants that supposedly contain air combat radars in the tail empenage. The other words, the Russians are working on the ‘check your six’ problem inherent in all fighters today.
Can anyone shed light on this?
