Rebels sieze Syrian AFB with L-39s

Islamist rebels seized Al Jarrah Air base which houses a squadron of L-39s

Youtube footage is interesting with scattered MiG wrecks everywhere.

The L-39s shown don’t appear too functional – one’s on a lean in a shelter whilst one shown close up has a very unclear canopy – signs of non-usage?

A third is shown covered up.

The Islamists are claiming some aircraft are operational though whether they have pilots or technicians is debatable.

Rebels have also siezed other bases with either SAMs or helicopters. Most of the helicopters have also appeared non-operational.
