Recent 737 problems and general safety

Amazing how a/c disasters soon fade from the news..The Helios Airways 737 crash could have been avoided..but ‘commercial pressures’ influenced the crew to ‘carry the snag'[possibly against their will ?]..There are still a few answers needed to complete the investigation,but I fear there may well be a cover up[for commercial and financial reasons no doubt?].Safety it would appear is beginning to slip in the order of priority for even so called security checks are no longer being strictly adhered to..I recently placed my bags and jacket immediately behind the last crew member going through x ray..where it was then handed to me ‘unviewed’ as the staff were busy talking to the Captain!.My lapelled white shirt may well have made them think I was crew!!(that would have been true at one time!)..The 737-200 flight to TFS was uneventful except for the fact the two pax next to the door complained of a draught..this was partially cured by the flight attendant stuffing paper towels around the door seal!!..They thought the draught was coming IN..but at FL33..I was thinking otherwise!..The landing was good and thankfully a different a/c appeared for the return to BHX!
