New information has apparently surfaced regarding this test and the so called ‘miss’
The recent test was NOT against a SCUD type threat. It was apparently a test that simulated the intercept of MIRV targets. A total of 10 targets was released of which 9 was decoys and 1 one is the actual warhead.
The Green Pine radar had acquired track on the warhead but for unknown reasons the missile missed.
If this is true, then the Israelis must be fairly confident of the system’s ability against SCUDs and is now moving on to the next level.
