Record airline passenger figures
Aurigny carried more than 2,000 passengers in one day
Channel Islands airline Aurigny carried a record number of passengers over Easter, overcoming difficulties with delays and technical problems.
Last Thursday it carried more than 2,000 passengers in one day for the first time.
Aurigny managing director Malcolm Hart admitted that in the three weeks before Easter the company faced tough times.
There was an above average number of delays and technical problems, which disappointed travellers.
But Mr Hart said the problems had now been put right, and last Thursday’s figures showed the airline was increasing its business.
It carried a total of 2,029 people on that day – its highest ever figure.
Mr Hart said he hoped Aurigny, which is owned by the States of Guernsey, could build on that success and not return to its run of bad performance.
