Recovered engine…Merlin???

Attached are a couple of pics of what i believe are the remains of a merlin engine,now i know its a very very faint chance but does anyone know its history???? or recognize it it from a dig???….I would love to know its origins but like so many artifacts it has now lost its context and at present is just another rusty relic
