Just driving back from work in Swindon, UK – which is near RAF Lyneham – when I nearly crashed the car trying to drive and at the same time watch 3 Herks flying at low-level heading towards Lyneham
They were in a vic formation – at about 800 feet, two – K’s and a – J.
There was also a Chinook at high level over Lyneham – maybe a photo-ship ??
What’s that all about then ???
There may be something on the local news at 6:30….

PS – I know there used to be 3 x C1’s fitted with Station Keeping Equipment (SKE) that used to stooge around the local countryside at low level – but they were usually in trail, these 3 were in a distinct Vee – maybe an airshow practice, or a PR exercise ?
PPS – Also saw a Herk doing a Khe San approach over Lyneham a few weeks back – looked most spectacular as he headed down at what looked like 75 deg over the airfield. I wonder how many calls the police had about crashing Herks ?
