Red Flag 07-2

Photos from a few days ago during the Red Flag 07-2 military exercise at Nellis air force base near Las Vegas.

Nicely loaded F-16 from the 27th fighter wing based at Cannon AFB, the “Fireballs”:

Taxying F-15 aggressor:

Check out the poor forward view of the F-117, at one of its last Red Flags before retirement:

First time for me seeing the EA-6B Prowler in action, another type due for retirement before too long:

The highlight for most of us, the RAAF F-111C Aardvarks:

Fair play to the pilot. I’d say he did a good job there, in fact I reckon he earned his day’s pay purely on the merit of those few seconds.

Great pictures.

Those F111’s – I always feel like I want to pull it backwards, let it go – and watch it zoom along the kitchen floor – like a clockwork toy. Must be something to do with the undercarriage layout.

😀 😀

Actually, judging by late last year’s problem with an Aussie F111, and the pilots exceptional skill in getting it down safely – I wonder if they need undercarriages at all!!!

Here it is again – Click.
