Rekkof

Well, this will be my first post on this Forum and.., lets get right to the Question… haha!

Does anybody know any news about the Rekkof Aircraft Company?
In Februari they were in the news with serious plans, but till this moment i didn’t hear anything from them at all!
I’m currently working at Fokker Services and, as one of the youngest members from the Engineering Department, i’m the most curious about the Rekkof company…

Any news is welcome!!

Best regards!!

Only taken them 5 years then…(judging from the date of the most recent and previous posts?)

I can’t help but think its a bit too late for them now because they are going to face major competition from the likes of Bombardier (C-Series) and Embraer (E170/190), all of which cover the 70-120 seat market, or am I wrong to think this?

EUROPEAN COMISSION APPROVES €20M CIVIL AIRCRAFT DEVELOPMENT CREDIT
FOR NEXT GENERATION FOKKER AIRCRAFT.
APPROVAL BRINGS NG AIRCRAFT CLOSER TO LAUNCHING THE FOKKER NEXT
GENERATION PROGRAM.
SCHIPHOL, NOVEMBER 17, 2010 – The European Commission has approved the Civil
Aircraft Development Credit which was awarded to NG Aircraft in March 2010 by the Dutch
ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation. The Dutch government granted the
€20M credit for the development of the Fokker 100 Next Generation (F-100NG).
“This is an important step forward for the Fokker Next Generation program. The approval
acknowledges the unique innovative “green” characteristics of the new aircraft”, says
Maarten van Eeghen, Managing Director of NG Aircraft. Over the last summer a team,
including several Dutch engineering agencies, such as ADSE, Atkins, Sergem, Fokker
Services and the National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR) of The Netherlands, successfully
completed the preliminary design review of the F-100NG. Discussions with potential
suppliers and industrial partners are in an advanced stage.
“We are close to starting the development phase in which we will modify an existing Fokker
100 test bed and equip it with the new engines, winglets and systems”, says Van Eeghen.
NG Aircraft has presented the program to several airlines, meeting substantial interest.
The Fokker 100 Next Generation is based on the unique lightweight structure of the current
Fokker 100 aircraft. New engines, avionics hardware, and winglets will result in lasting
superior economic and environmental performance. Fuel consumption and CO2 emission will
be 18% lower relative to its direct competitor. The noise pressure will be 70% lower. The 110
seats F-100NG is the point of design for the Fokker JetLine Next Generation aircraft. Over
time the family will be expanded with a 85 seater and a 130 seater aircraft. Van Eeghen:
“The Fokker Next Generation Program is destined to become the new benchmark for
regional aircraft”.
NG Aircraft is the successor of Rekkof Aircraft N.V. and is a subsidiary of Panta Holdings b.v.
owned by Mr. Jaap Rosen Jacobson. NG Aircraft has the goal to develop and start the
production of the Fokker Next Generation Aircraft.

The engines are rumoured to be the same as on the 717. Not RR, but BMW

The BR715, as fitted to the B717 was a joint BMW/RR engine. BMW sold their half of the company to RR, so it is now a RR engine… 🙂

The F100 has been experiencing a come back of late. With a lot of the low hours machines from America being snapped up almost before they get taped up for storage.

I could see a new production doing well, if they modernise it enough to give it an edge, but don’t totaly over do it.

I think West Australian airline Skywest has quite a few ex US Airways 100’s

So Rekkof is not dead yet? After KLM Cityhopper selected the E190 last year people, including “insiders” at A.net, mentioned that Rekkof would stop.

IF this project will go ahead the wings won’t be build in the UK anymore. Shorts was kind enough to destroy the tooling almost at their first opportunity. Short’s owner, Bombardier, was all to happy to see Fokker go and did not mind to make any restart harder. Insiders mention that a new wing(s) has been made in the Czech republic. It is slightly different then the current F70/100 wing, though cosmetically the winglets would be the most obvious stand-out.

The engines are rumoured to be the same as on the 717. Not RR, but BMW.

Ok seems funny that there being built from Czech republic and B717 Engines that be good dont know the range on them engines hope it all goes to plan and we see Rekkof flying in 2 years time.

old news:
http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=38455&highlight=rekkof

have you got any insight in when (if) Rekkof will restart production? Every month they keep saying it will be just 2 more weeks. They have been doing so for well over a year, so how can we remain optimistic? I’d love to see it happen, don’t get me wrong, but they are dragging it on awfully long.
