Paid a visit here on 10 July ….and these bits are laying in the grass…. does anyone know anything about them …radome look Gannet to me.

It must be four or five years that she has been sat there in what is a very exposed position at Fairwood. The sea air and winter weather can’t be doing any good at all.

XE601 status has been raised on a couple of other forums recently and is now in Canada having been shipped over last year, along with the ex Swiss AF Apache Aviation mk58s that were on defence contracts. Not sure (can’t remember) if it will fly again..

I seem to recall people saying that XL612 and XE601 were both going to have a better future than staying with the Boscombe Down collection! Apparantly not in both cases!
