Remember the TV series Buccaneer?

Can anyone help with this request?

I’m trying to find a copy (preferably on DVD) of the whole series of Buccaneer. Shown (once only?) by the BBC in 1980, I beleive there were 13 episodes.

Reason for this request? Because the stars of the show were Redcoat’s Luton based Britannia fleet!!! 😉

A good place for old TV and Films is NETWORKONAIR.COM (used to be network dvd) I believe that if they receive enough requests they do short production runs of series etc. They currently have AIRLINE complete series for £17.95 Fly into Danger £9.18 andPiece of Cake complete series £12.24 Plane Makers a bit hefty at £27.56 vol1 £35.00 vol2 but these are limited run. BIGGLES complete series will be available 12/8/13
Hope that helps somebody

Sorted.

I am not totally sure ‘Happy’ was an accurate description of his state of mind 🙂

Just a quick administrative note to inform you all that ex-member rgh has left the building and will not be returning.

By way of reason you can select from 1) Using this forum to attempt to trade 2) Trading in items of stolen copyright 3) Personal abuse

One trusts the link between the “Buccaneers” TV series (swashbuckling, not aviating) and the forum’s favourite movie has not passed people by?

I think, sadly, it was for the second reason you cited.

I suppose it is often because one or more of the original participants or their estates will not give permission.

In response to a question asked two years ago someone supplied an address to which one could apply for information on the availability of old programmes. I have just received the following reply – hopefully this post will not be blocked!!

“Thank you for your recent communication regarding the availability of the above programme on DVD.

I am sorry to have to disappoint you but upon investigation I can confirm that we have no immediate plans to clear and release this title on DVD. However your correspondence will be kept on file as each quarter we review public enquiries and often revisit titles which are frequently requested.”

No profanity towards anyone – indeed a simple courteously worded straight question. So there you are…..

I am treading delicately because I don’t want to join in the ire here. But I do have a question. If what has been described is the case isn’t it illegal to copy broadcast material for profit? If that is not what has taken place please confirm and I will delete my post.

Just had an interesting series of e-mails with IMHO rgh who originally posted [as Robert Hodgson now deleted again IMHO apologies if it wasn’t him] ,a message saying he had copies of the series on DVD [recorded of off the TV]. When i declined to buy he got most upset and sent me an irate e-mail saying i was going to wait until one of my mates on the forum bought it a nd get a copy of them, but that now no one would get a copy.
I smell a conman throwing his toys out of the pram.
