Remembering Mark Hanna

25 years ago today we heard the awful news of the Buchon accident in Spain.
Mark  succumbed to his injuries the following evening.

I remember heading into London on the train for a job interview, grabbing a paper ( pre internet), and despairing at the news.

He would have been 65  this year. He is still remembered, and missed.

He passed away 26 Sep 1999. A very experienced young (to young) pilot.

The son of Ray Hanna also ex RAF. They had set up the Old Flying Machine Company (OFMC) at Duxford, together just short of 2 decades before his untimely death.

If there is any consolation here, he died doing something he really loved.

RIP Mark.

He should have grown old and bold like Ray. Greatly missed.

His sister ran a burns charity in his memory for the best part of 20 years – that must have taken incredible fortitude, being reminded every day of what had happened.
