I’m sure there are lots of folks here who have lots of feelings today. And I’m sure like me, while remembering all vets, there are some who stand out more based on our own personal experiences with them.
Here are the ones that have impacted the strongest on me and are in my thoughts everyday. Hoping others will remember the ones that have impacted on them as well.

Sgt ‘Johnny’ Wiseman, Killed in Action 14th February 1943
F/Sgt ‘Babe’ Haddon, Killed in Action 14th February 1943
F/Lt Francois de Spirlet, Killed in Accident 26th June 1942
I took Eloise to the memorial for Johnny and Babe this morning. Betty, Johnny’s sister, was there when we arrived. I was very pleased to see her, and she looked well. We both did a bit of cleaning. Then two people from the village turned up as well. There were five of us to observe a two minute silence – One who had lost her brother, two who wanted to pay their respects to two of the many they had read about in the paper, one who had decided to make it possible for people to always remember them, and one who would hopefully carry their remembrance into the future. We then went over to the War Memorial at Martham churchyard where John’s name is inscribed, and paid our respects once more.
And on Sunday I shall first bow my head, and then raise a glass amongst my friends and family to Francois at Duxford and Whittlesford.

A number of them would not survive the next few months.
