For one who is familiar with Pierre Closterman’s “The Big Show” this was fascinating and poignant.

Rene Mouchotte
Thanks for your reply confirming about the programme still not being available in France on iPlayer.
I shall pass on your suggestions to my colleague in your country, if he hasn’t already sussed out what to do of course 🙂 !!

I would like to know if it is possible somehow for a person in France to be able to view the programme on iPlayer
Legitimately, no. If I click on that hyperlink, what I get is:
“Currently BBC iPlayer TV programmes are available to play in the UK only, but all BBC iPlayer Radio programmes are available to you”.
However I am told that it can be done by, I believe, using certain websites as a medium through which to disguise the true geographical location of the PC accessing iplayer. As I’ve not done this, I don’t know which websites are used or how it is done. No doubt a spot of googling would reveal all!

Rene Mouchotte / RR232 on BBC iPlayer
Living down here in Cornwall I had to catch this excellent piece by Jan Leeming on iPlayer as of course we have a different “Inside Out”, and the feature on ours was all about RR232!!

Although I was able to take a few screen prints by pausing the Rene Mouchotte film I would like to know if it is possible somehow for a person in France to be able to view the programme on iPlayer as, currently, you have to be a UK resident to be able to view on the PC etc.
cheers

Interesting to see him in that photo in uniform (2.02), with Jack Charles on the left and just a glimpse of Al Deere on the right.
Anyone recognise any of the other faces ?
It looks like the occasion when the 1000th enemy aircraft was shot down by aircraft from the Biggin Hill Wing. Either way it is a very nice tribute by Jan Leeming.
Regards,
Dan

and effort to remember these gallant and patriotic people.
I hope this particular report finds its way to my part of the world, please keep us updated.

“Les Carnets de Rene Mouchotte” = Rene Mouchotte’s logbooks is an even better testament to a great Frenchman.
Nice to see the BBC remembering him as well.
