Wow its still alive! lol
Some nice newbies Allen – Benn ages since i posted on here too. I’ve had quite a few new additions over the past 2 years as i’m sure you can imagine – although i’m starting to sell them off.
I managed to track down some good models over the past months.
Qantas 747 in Formula 1 livery – picked up for £50
Malaysia 777 in special livery
Oasis Hong Kong 744
Boeing 777-200LR in house livery
Various BA jets and BOAC vc-10s (Drool!)
The Flybe Dash 8 (Got today)
Various Tridents
Theres loads to list, but i haven’t the time. lol – I’ll try to get some pictures this week loaded up onto here…

Only the Fokker F27 (Aeroclassics) is currently made in 1:400 scale, but I think you’ll find the jets in other scales ?

You sometimes get the odd bit of GSE (ground service equipmrnt) free with a model, but you can buy them in sets from the likes of Herpa, Dragon Wings, Gemini Jets and Aeroclassics.
As for the models themselves I get them from mail order dealers but there are shops such as Model Zone, Aviation Retail Direct and Collectors Aircraft Models around the country. Nothing in my neck of the woods, hence mail order. www.classicaeromodels.co.uk and www.jetcollector.com are two I use. There’s e-bay too of course…

Top notch selection, Allen. 😮
The British Airways fleet looks very nice. I’ve got a few BA models, but must have around 10 Thai Airways models now (all 1/200 by Gemini Jets, Dragon Wings etc), in three different colour schemes, ranging from the tiny 737-200 right up to the huge 747-400 and the A340-600.
Unfortunately, all of my models, including those posted fairly recently above, are stacked up in boxes. I really should find some space and get them back on display.
Those BA shots are just my Chatham tails, and since taking that picture I’ve added the new Gemini A320 and 735. My entire BA collection now boasts healthy sub sections representing Red Tail, Landor, Utopia Tails and Chatham tails. Not to mention a good dose of BOAC/BEA stuff as well.
I just put eight shelves up in my attic, which are all full now. And that’s not to mention the half dozen or so shelves around the house. Think it’s time to go to B&Q for another half dozen or so…
I must be hitting 400 models or so by now ?

Thought i would post a shot of my first ever aircraft models, bought today.
I’m new to the whole collecting models game, so was wondering who you guys think produces the best 1/200 scale models – I’m looking to start collecting 1/200 scale models? I recently ordered a JAL 777-300 from 200scale.com, and its coming from the US. The DHL is 1/150 and the Virgin is 1/200.
Nice models Adam, I only collect 1:400 and I have the Virgin A340-600 in that scale, two of them in fact.
You can discuss 1:200 scale models with the guys on this sub-forum…

I think it’s about time this thread made a return!
Good idea Michael, after nearly two years since I regularly contributed pictures of my new purchases it’s time to get going again.
Sadly after something like 5 years on this forum, I can no longer attach pictures owing to the quota limit coming into force, rendering me already used up and then some. I’ve deleted pages and pages of my pics from various threads and I’m still nowhere near under the quota, so I guess it’s going to be photo bucket attachments from now on.
I think it was May 2005 when I stopped regularly contributing to the thread, mainly because the promised ‘modelling’ sub forum got buried under flight simming on the index page, but hey it’s good to see it back.
Here is a small selection of shots of just some of what I got on the last two years, no I didn’t ever stop buying those 1:400 scale beauties !

I think it’s about time this thread made a return! A few months ago, I sold off one or two of my models, but two new arrivals are now here. They are a China Eastern A340-600 in the 2010 ‘Expo’ colours and an Asiana A320-200 in the new colour scheme. Both are by Phoenix and on a 1/400 scale, so obviously the A320 is pretty small.
