Replacement for A-10?

After desert storm the USAF said they were going to retire this old work horse (i believe but i may be wrong) because it was so old. But evidently they didn’t; I was just wondering what aircraft are they looking to replace this tough as hell airplane with for close support mission?

Are they just going to replace it with the JSF like they are doing in the USMC to replace AV-8Bs. Does the US government believe the don’t need and aircarft like the A-10 for close support mission any more, and that they can just use regular aircarft that can’t take nearly 1% of the damage an A-10 can.
