Hi guys,
Looks like i have now got a few flights booked over the next month.
Jet2 MAN – LGW next week.
Ryanair MAN- DUB for the meet on the following Monday which i am really looking forward to.
And have now booked a holiday in Aruba, via AMS on an MD11.
Anyone have any idea what sort of IFE is available on KLM’s MD’s or is a matter of buying a couple of decent books?
Looking forward to bagging some of the south american traffic while i am out there.
Any info appreciated.

Cheers for the comments guys. I am so looking forward to an 11 flight. I was not able to get a 10 flight before they all disappeared, and i suppose all 11’s will be converted to cargo before too long.
I am temped to try and get seats at the rear, in the knowledge of a huge engine above.
Thanks again.

Watch out for the galleys wobbling about in turbulence. That freaked me out a bit!
That’s normal on lots of aircraft types, it’s just more noticeable on some (especially widebodies) than others.
It’s usually an optical illusion caused by ceiling panels which aren’t rigidly fixed moving around next to galley units which are. Often during take off and landing the same effect makes it look as though the overhead lockers are moving.
On some aircraft types the galley units are attached at the floor only so there is some movement of the unit at ceiling height.

Does anyone know the plans for fitting the KLM 744s with seatback TVs? I travel with them every year, but think opting for Northwest A330s and connecting in DTW or MSP is better when it comes to onboard amenities.

They are awesome aircraft to fly in, the power is immense and just the thoguht of flying in a 3 engined aeroplane is pretty cool.
Saying that I went business class with Delta 😀

IFE on KLM MD11s not great; old style tv screens. Their B747s are the same; only the A330s and B777s have avod screens in seatbacks.
