Request For Books

Hi all. I am straying over here from Historic to ask for a little help.

Does anybody have the following books that they are willing to part with for a reasonable sum. If so please PM me.

Turbulent skies – a history of commercial aviation.

Air transport – a management perspective.

I need the books for my Aviation Management degree.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Ben.

Ahem…. can you swap pub recommendations, etc, by PM please?

Let’s at least pay lip-service to the concept of staying on-topic, shall we?

Thanks

Air transport – a management perspective.

I have this book…

As much as I would like to say I would use it in the future, I probably won’t. If you want it, I will sell it to you…but you probably wont want to get it shipped from Australia!..and I think I paid way too much for it down here because it was shipped from North America. U are better off ordering it from the amazon.

anyway….this is a useless post.

I’m in the lucky position that I only live 20 minutes away from LBA so i’m commuting! Well if petrol doesnt go up any more! A good place to look is http://www.accommodationforstudents.com if you are looking for something in the city centre.

I take it you had the same letter I did, saying about the induction days on the 23rd and 24th? I dont suppose you know if the second induction day is on wednesday the 24th or thursday the 25th as in the letter it said thursday 24th

Well I’ll be seeing you all soon too then, I’m starting my second year in a few weeks time at The Aviation Academy.
I know there is an induction day on the Wednesday cos I’ve been asked to pop in for an hour or so.

Hi chaps,

To keep this thread in line with the initial subject (as I fear it could descend into general student banter otherwise!:)), I would always recommend Amazon for books as you can usually find they have a wider choice than most other retailers and they are cheapest for price and often offer a combination of offers if you buy more than one book at a time…(don’t forget you get free delivery on orders over £15!).

Dont bother trying to look in bookshops such as Waterstones, as they don’t stock specialist books on the subject because there is simply not the demand for it.

As a suggestion, another book I would recommend is this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Airline-Business-Rigas-Doganis/dp/0415346150/ref=pd_sim_b_4

Also, why not buy one/two copies of each book and agree a process whereby you all share them between each other…just a suggestion to help you reduce your costs?

Hope this helps, and good luck with your studies!

Just remember, you’ve got to study/work twice as hard as you party…!

Nice one, we will probs see each other on the induction days by the sound of it.

Talking of pubs, I think the nearest one to the college is called The Albert in Yeadon but i’m not 100%

It says on the letter than its business dress so do you reckon we could just get away with a shirt and trousers or do you think its gonna be a suit?

If these is anyone else already at LBA, or London met, or just doing a similar course it would be great if they could give us a bit of feedback on what to expect and what other sort of stuff we will need to get?

Not sure of where to go for a pint – only been to Leeds once before, but as i’m moving up next weekend got plenty of time to find a decent pub. Staying at a place called the ‘Tannery’, PM’d you a link to the place

May be seeing both of you too – i’m going into my second year at LBA, (did my first year of the course at London Met, which I don’t reccomend!). As it’s my first year at LBA though, I may be with you guys for an introduction day, haven’t heard anything off them yet….
