Afternoon gents.
I hate to do this but i’d like to borrow your attention for a few minutes. As part of my degree, myself and my partner have to do a sort of mini dissertation, and we have chosen to attempt the question: What was the Battle of Britain?
As a part of this question, we want to explore the evolution of the Spitfire and Hurricane within the few months of the Battle, maybe just outlining any developments made to the operational types (unofficial or official) in the face of the German assault. In particular, I’d love a link to anywhere that has a schematic of the prototype spit that entered service, and one of the Mk. 1a, just to see if there are any major differences. Actually, any pics of Battle of Britain aircraft on either side would be fantastic. I have tried google and a site search, however, you all must know how many erronious threads the term Battle Britain and Spitfire turn up!!
The project is just getting of the ground, and I would really appreciate your assistance. Furthermore, if anyone has any links to primary souces from 1940 (newspapers, battle reports, images, diarys, books, journals etc.) i’d be very much inclined to buy you a drink in the Red Lion!
Thank you all in advance for your imput.
