Hi
Does anyone out there have an image or drawing of a Vickers Valiant Leak Stopper. The aircraft carried at least 4 of these items in holders above the AEO Station.

Doesn’t Ken Ward own that Valiant cockpit at the Highland Museum?

Although there is nothing on their website, I believe a number of cockpit sections have moved from HAM to Morayvia, including the Valiant?
The Vulcan move was to Tees-Valley airport for their airshow last year.

XD875 COCKPIT MOVE
Is this correct? I can’t find any online update from HAM that it has moved from there. If it has then it may have gone to join the owner’s Vulcan cockpit that used to be at Brunty. This was the one that memorably had a tow through a small river by a tractor a year or so ago as posted online to get it to a museum/airfield where there was a show going on at the time. I think it stopped there after and wondering if it was Carlisle.

I’m sure there are Brooklands pics online (not on the website from what I’ve seen though) that have an upward view into the top of the canopy which has circular rails below it. Attached to these may be those stopper items, they’re not very good res though if I remember right – the interior pics, about 4 in all smay be on a general Google search.

Rats. I thought this was going to be about the Vultee Valiant.
It certainly has a wing that leaks. A friend of mine is de-fueling after each flight these days.

Runway 06, The Highland Aviation museum do not have a Valiant any more as its now moved on, and I forgot about the Brooklands one thanks

I would say that your best bet is to contact either the Highland aviation museum or Brooklands aviation museum, both have Valiant cockpits as part of their exhibits. Contact details are on the net, a quick email to them may pay dividends.

Well I do most humbly apologize for taking an interest. You carry on looking for obscure stuff for nearly extinct aeroplanes and I’ll stop wondering what they are and why on earth you might want one.
Words do not fail you, they mostly take the form of rude replies.

And I thought this remained one of the few aviation sites where you still got sensible answers. Words fail me

So are you hoping to put together enough patches to rebuild a whole valiant?
By: GATEGUARD - 22nd February 2018 at 16:20
If I knew what they looked like I wouldn’t be asking the question

Assuming they are a fabric/mesh device like the Victor’s?
L4, they are a ‘patch the pressure cabin to get you home’ device.
