Resizing Images

Hi

How can I resize a large image without making it go strange? I need to make a few images smaller to get them on uploading sites. You know if you have a medium sized image and you make it small, it goes a bit blurry.

I don’t know if there are any specific programs for this, but I just use paint. Any ideas?

The Gimp is a free image editor in the styles of Adobe’s photoshop. It was designed for Linux originally, but is now also available for Windows and Mac.

Users of Microsoft Windows XP (apologies to those who prefer other platforms) can download the Image Resizer Power Toy from here – http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Once installed, just right click on your image and select Resize Pictures.

With kind regards,

Not sure about Paint, the best way i found to resize my images for web is to change the ppi to 72, then change the size to 400-500 pixels wide(or high if in portrait format) this usually keeps things looking neat, plus stops people from taking photo’s of the web and enlarging them for themselves.
Hope this helps.
