restart MiG-21 and F-5 production lines?

a far more radical idea.. but I’ve seen some in this forum advocating the continuation of the F-5 (or even the F-20).. and I threw in the MiG-21 (there are some who prefer the MiG-21 over the J-7 which has evolved into a different aircraft in its own right).

Why? Because combat jets are becoming too expensive.. the Gripen would suit this role but it’s not exactly cheap.. the Ching Kuo is not allowed for export, while at the same time, several of the latest upgrades for both the F-5 and MiG-21 give it a large increase in capability (such as BVR capabilities, a modern cockpit layout that reduces pilot load, etc). These aircraft would naturally, not replace established aircraft such as the F-16 or M2K.. but rather, an option for those who don’t need a super sophisticated aircraft but want something modern for point defence.. or those who opt for buying large numbers of such small/cheap aircraft that simply act as a platform to launch hordes of capable missiles at enemies, while being able to be cheap enough to absorb the costs of being destroyed.

so what say ye?
