Restorations Illustrated

I wanted to invite eveyone to check out Restorations Illustrated at http://www.buffiesbest.com. I have been taking photos of restorations and airplanes in general for many years and thought that others (modelers, aviation nuts like myself) would also find them useful. The first CD was on the restoration of two Me-109 G-10’s. You can see the reviews and a few pics at http://www.buffiesbest.com/me109_cd.html

The second CD in the series will be released in about a week and will cover the Lockheed P-38 Lightning. There will be hundreds of photos of the restoraition of the Evergreen Aviation P-38 L-5 as well as on camera interviews with 11 former pilots and two interviews specifically covering the challenges of recovering and restoring these great airplanes (one with Bob Cardin of Glacier Girl fame and one with Bob Garrett of Classic Jets Fighter Museum in Australia.

I am hoping that I can help others on this forum as well with photos and information.

Thanks!

Your right on Mark

You are right on Mark!

I have been taking pictures of the restorations of Vintage for over 10 years now.

From the Wildcat, 3 P-51’s (two D’s and an H), Spitfire, Me-109’s, DC-10, P-38, and now the Zero.

Those guys do absolutely amazing work!

Hmmm…so, since the Evergreen P-38 was restored by Darrell Skurich and his boys here in Colorado….and since their project BEFORE the P-38 was two late model Messerschmitts (a g-6 and g-10 I think), I wonder if that was ALSO shot at Skurich’s shop when he was restoring the Messer’s for Evergreen (one wound up at the air force museum)…
