reverse daylight savings time

I think that daylight savings time should be reversed, we should get an extra hour of daylight in winter months and the summer half of the year should be regular time. I find it very strange that its countrys in northern latitudes that support daylight savings time the most, does it really make a difference if the sun sets at 11:00 pm instead of 10:00 pm for those who live in places like UK, New York, France, etc? Now instead of getting dark at 4:00 pm during winter in these places, wouldnt it be nice if it didnt get dark till 5:00 pm?

And where is it still light at 22:00hrs (10:00pm) outside, at any time of the year, in Britain? Extreme northern Scotland maybe…

Not as extreme north as you think. Sunset in Glasgow this week is around 21:10BST. By the end of June (solstice) it will be around 22:07BST staying light until well after 11, and sunrise around 04:20BST, getting light well before 4.

At the winter solstice its a very different story, with sunrise around 8:45GMT and sunset at 15:45GMT.

Abolish all this mucking around with the clock.

Don’t get the point – the sun is above the horizon for the same length of time, so making it lighter at one end would, indeed, make it darker at the other…

But that would mean it would still be dark at 9am, so there’s no gain.
