As the end of the year grows closer:-
What was the worst thing that happened in 2003?

Not you as well Nermal? Jeez.
Photographic education is absolutely useless in professional skills these days. An HND seems to be the first of ‘useable’ value, but still isn’t of any practical use.
You want to be a photographer? Learn business skills. Learn promotion. etc. The skill at photography is second to that if you want to eat. My business skills are crap, so I mostly work for other people. A sideline that I don’t need to rely on to pay my mortgage is far nicer to deal with. I pick and choose, do very little, and take teh equivalent of half the salary from my day job.
And forget darkrooms; they are great fun, but the industry rarely requires film these days.

Are they bringing much digital imaging stuff into these courses nowadays ?

Then I hope you are good – there are far too many useless phots out in the real world who can annoy and insult people without adding to the pool;). It might help to point out that of the eight I studied with only three are still in the trade, although maybe I’ll also point out that one is now a teacher and another is in computer graphics (or something). – Nermal

Copied from Damien’s post. Perfect wording.
Coventry airshow and watching Pierre Hollander going in.
Legends and looking up to see the dust cloud that marked Bill Murton and Neil Rix’s last moments.

For me, seeing the Firefly at Flying Legends pass behind the tail of the B-25 parked up on the flight line and never reappearing, and having a miscarriage in October.
Hellaid 2, don’t know what grades you got, but I am sure you will be able to put them to good use some how. Ever heard of the sayings “when one door closes, another door opens”? Well maybe this means your working life will take a different direction to what you originally intended, but the new direction might turn out to be better than the original plan. Does that make sense? π

Don’t worry about it Adam – most of us know it isn’t you. Fact is, all the Hellier crowd come on, start stirring you up etc. IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT. We know that – anyone with half a brain knows it. And yes, I’ve seen you and Hellaid V4 online at the same time, so I know that you aren’t him (or her). You aren’t the nobhead causing trouble, so don’t feel bad about it.
