[updated:LAST EDITED ON 14-11-02 AT 01:40 PM (GMT)]Regional Express – Red Cross Alliance To Support Farmhand Appeal
As a regional airline that has its heart in the country, Rex understands many Australians are facing tough times as a result of the drought.
Rex loves to lend a hand and has formed an alliance with the Australian Red Cross to help rural families experiencing extreme hardship. This initiative is being conducted in association with the Farmhand Appeal and represents a $60,000 commitment by the airline.
The initiative will involve Rex providing up to $20,000 worth of air tickets for Australians affected by the drought, including people travelling for a holiday or those who need to make a trip in an emergency situation.
The Australian Red Cross will use its experience in caring for people to select the recipients and then nominate them to Rex.
The travel will be available across the Rex network that covers 31 destinations across NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
Rex will also be providing a cash donation to the Farmhand Appeal, contributing $1.00 for each ticket sold during November up to a value of $30,000.
In a further commitment, the airline is to provide air travel/freight worth $10,000 to the Australian Red Cross to help it in its efforts to support rural families.
Rex sees this as an opportunity to give something back to the communities it serves and to offer people the chance to make a contribution simply by flying with us.
