I may have an explanation. On the day of the event I was introduced to a new (very new) marketing manager for the museum who asked me for ideas (which is more than the old one did) and web sites that she could use to spread the word about the museum on. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the lack of communication was the result of this staff change.
To be fair about the advertising for this event, parking was limited to the grass area adjacent to the museum (No, not the airfield) and this was full, so this is the size of event we can expect in the future.
The days of the international Airshow and Music in the Air concerts are unfortunately long gone at Wallop and there is a need for some new ideas that can fit within the small space available to the museum, although just like this RFC 100 event the airfield could be used for the purpose intended ie flying.

Interesting – apparently the group i’m a member of (http://www.thegreatwarsociety.com) was approached and the museum sounded very keen but then went silent….. shame, as we could have provided numbers of RFC and WW1 British Infantry with demonstrations etc
That sounds familiar, we had been approached a long while ago and all looked good and they were very keen, and then nothing!!
As it was we were other wise engaged at No2 Sqn at Marham:)

There was just ONE gentleman who was dressed as an Officer. He spent the whole day inside the museum talking about photo reconaisance, getting people to match photos with a map.
