Not totally gone yet. FLZ is closing down, JG74 in Neuburg is preparing for the EF, but JG71 “Richthofen” will still fly the F-4F until 2011. So the F-44 is not yet history in Germany.

and some guests, paying a final tribute to the unit which had been protectiing the space over Westfalia for over 40 years abd showing their resoect to the 27 airmen that lost their live doing so. 🙁

Good news for me because I’ve never seen a flying F4 Phantom at a show. So I’m glad to hear they intend to keep them up and running until 2011! 🙂
