R.I.P. a great actor.

A great shame.
Of course he was in The Great Escape and directed A Bridge Too Far – two classic war films.
As for Brian G Hutton? Well, who can forget Where Eagles Dare?!

Attenborough contributed hugely to the life of this country in many spheres of interest for 70 years. A talented actor, director and producer as well as a contributor, benefactor and facilitator to the acting profession and many other activities. He was also a very kind and generous man.

Jumping on this thread, so has Brian G. Hutton, who directed Where Eagles Dare and Kelly’s Heroes (both favourites over on Historic, despite only having incidental aviation content, I believe).
