Certainly, you can send an e-mail or PM to the Webmaster, and he’ll deal with it. He should be more available now since he’s back from vacation.

Is there a way i can make a comlaint about moderators handling of a topic to someone that is above the moderators and will act upon it.

Also I don’t know if this aplyes in here (i don’t know if the mods of the general discussion forum are the same as in the military forums). In the modern military aviation forum, and it’s subforum, there is a lot of quite horrible brhasing and personal insoults going on.

A few of us are moderators on more than one section in here. As for ModMil, we have four or five moderators, but the problem is that we do all have things to do outside the forum. Sometimes something negative can generate and it is a day or two before it gets noticed by a moderator. Other times we may just miss a thread by accident. If it isn’t reported to us, we may miss it altogether.

It sometimes seems like there is no moderation at all, very interesting threads have turned to pointless shouting, and it has been going on for months!! One of the worst is the Albanian military thread.

I’ll look at that one right now. And I will take a far more microscopic look at the individual threads over the next day or two and see what else I can uncover that may have been missed. I had to clean up one thread yesterday that had been active for a day or so and had missed out on any moderating.

Tought i managed to start a confrontation in here with one guy whom i had to ban form my forum. It managed to go on without any intervention from the mods in here. I feel shame about this and just to let you know, it has now ended. I have not posted there as much as i have whissed cos in many threads it’s quite obvious what it would turn up negative…

Well, for my part at least, I will try and take a closer look at things. For you, and any other users out there, it is good to bring things like this up. If there’s a problem, let us know and we’ll deal with it. Your best bet would be to send a PM to all the members of that forums moderating team, so that if one person is away or asleep or something someone else has the chance to fix it.

I don’t know if i should say anything to in this thread as i have no idea of those incidences occured (cos i’m quite new in here…) that led to this thread posted…but few things related to this has come to my mind so i decided to share them with you.

First of all this moarning about moderators action is bit weird, i mean if you join up to some forum wouldn’t it be obvious that you same time agreed with the policy of the forum and acept the “leadership” of the moderators and administrations. I guess in here the mods have earned their status so generaly they should be fit to do they job. Othervise the adm. would have dispahsed them right? So when you constantly keep moarning to webmaster that this moderator misthreated me, it will start this sort of “cops keeps together” reaction. At least I wouldn’t like that my own decisionn would be constantly questioning…moderation isen’t personal, it’s neccecerity to the forums disipline

Seeing as Flood has abused his moderator powers again by closing a perfectly reasonable thread, perhaps he could do me the inestimable courtesy of explaining why his original attack on me was deleted if it was not considered inapproriate by the person who deleted it.

May I humbly apologise to you. There was never any intention on my part to hurt your feelings or sensibilities.
I would guess that it was my comments about people who had authored books, etc, being poor spellers that caused that particular post to be deleted, not the assumed attack by me on you which never happened; you can still see my exact quote in the thread of yours that is locked on historic (the one with my reply which made it quite plain that I had not mentioned you – or anyone else – in any way, shape or form). If you let me – or any other moderator or the webmaster – know which word or phrase in that particular post you thought applicable to yourself then we can hopefully moderate it to your satisfaction.
Poor spelling has never been your problem; there has never been any spelling mistakes in your posts that I can recall. In fact I was at a complete loss to see how on earth you had managed to conclude that you were the victim of, to quote you, an ‘unprovoked personal attack’ and ‘insults’ by me (since I only said ‘bad spellers on this forum’, not thread; and I actually meant to say ‘these forum’ anyway) until, searching back for another project, I came across a mention that you were writing a book.
Sorry, I didn’t realise you were an author.

The trouble with this forum

😡 😡 The problems with certain moderators have been with us for some time now and has caused several contributors to go elsewhere, which is the loss of the forum. The best moderator has left us as of January 1st. And we have regularly been suffering from ignorant members. Of course this is a public forum and everyone has a right to give his opinion but lately the quality of this forum has been on the decline and it makes it less enjoyable to participate or even check the various topics on a daily basis.

I would like to point out that if things are not reversed the forum will be a childish playground and the really good topics will diminish or dissapear altogether as well as some of the regular contributors.

My opinion only of course

Fair enough. It really was rather stupid of me to expect an honest answer to any question I pose. Key have proven they have no concern for the way these fora are run so we just have to accept it.

I shall be sure not to question the standards employed by moderators anymore. My apologies to the forum members my actions have upset and to Flood, well in the words of the Beautiful South, Carry on regardless….
