I have been following the details about the riots occuring in Paris for about a week on the web but these events got little or no coverage in the mainstream press in Canada or the U.S. until a couple of days ago. Apparently these events have now become too significant for the left controlled NA media to ignor. Even the CBC in Canada has began to cover the nightly “events”.
The French government has cancelled a top level diplomatic visit to Canada by Dominique de Villepin and Interior Minister Sarkozy to Pakistan so they can deal with the “unrest”. Most of the reports are vague about who exactly is rioting but some reports have mentioned unhappy “African” and Muslim populations.
I understand similar events have taken place in Denmark but as yet I have not seen any press coverage. Apparently there have been recent clashes between ethnic factions in England as well.
It would appear that France is paying the price for ignoring the factors which have marginalized the Islamic population. It would seem the lack of a clear immigration policy supported by political, economic and social structures, is the underlying cause of the rioting. Who knows to what degree this situation is being exploited by Islamic extremists but it must be considerable. Unfortunately France is not alone.
Everyone knows this situation will not improve without tough measures being taken but who is going to be brave enough to take them.
Recently many expressed the opinion that the hurrican damage in the U.S. revealed how incompetent, violent and racist the U.S. is. (Some as I recall were happy abiut it) Well, the situation in France has the potential to be far more distructive to French society and the solutions will not be as easy as rebuilding levees and homes.

Hey, in LA, it probably could happen. Similar situtation in France,
were the multiculturalist attitude seeks not assimilation, but
independent cultural groups co-existing. In the L.A. area, you
have a massive influx of mexican immigrants (many illegal) who do
not wish to become American citizens. They live as if they were in
Mexico, except taking the benifits of America, including free
schooling. They do not become American, and fail to become
part of society. That means they stay isolated, and poor, and it
gives them an excuse for their situation. In other parts of the US, first generation natural born mexicans
(children of immigrants) are indistinguishable from anybody else.
They are as American as anybody. They have their family’s
culture, but they’re no different,a nd they’re just as sucessful as
anyobe else. NC has a huge and increasing mexican population.
But they’re, fo rthe most part, becoming part of the culture.
California’s policies on illegal immigrants will eventually lead to a
big blowup. It’s only a matter of time. It’s these isolated groups of people that have no desire to become
part of, and contribute to, American culture, that are problems.I could see something like that happen in some of those areas. It
wold be interesting to see how it’s handled. Arnold would put his
foot down, I believe, more quickly than Jacques did.
Thus, you are telling us that a new “1992” type riots are on the way? In L.A I’ve heard that the Whites are too few…

What is amazing for me is that a little country town like Carpentras made the front pages all the way here in North America. My grandmother lives just outside Carpentras in a small village called Venasque and I had to wonder if she was alright as she to attend a few doctor appointments there!
It seems that this is slowly coming to an end as less and less people are taking to the streets every night! I hope this unrest will soon end to allow France to heel from its wounds! Many here in North America believe France’s image was hurt within the worldwide community! I tend to agree a little!
Just wish these will not happen there

5 or 6 cars burned in Belgium in the past 2 weeks, you can hardly consider this riots. Actually, some young criminals thinking it is “cool” do imitate what happens next door.
They are just like those who set their schools on fire end of August, so they can have a longer vacation…
Actually in Lokeren (Belgian city) the fire was set up by unemployed white Vlaams Blok trash! 😡 They wanted to let immigrants look bad. Pretty low …

Do you think the recent measures taken by the government in the past forty-eight hours will be enough to finally bring this to an end?
As well, it seems this problem is now slowly spreading to the rest of the continent with apparent rioting in Belgium and Germany. How long do you think it will take for these governments to take care of the problem? Will they be efficient or as inept as the current French government has proven to be?
The Netherlands, UK and Belgium are also afraid of a general uprise from their immigrants
From my #13 post.

Yesterday only (!) 600 cars were burned. This night maybe less…
But I wonder if the insurance companies (AXA etc.) can hold the huge car-insurance (and probably house and property) compensations claimed by the owners.

#2: and this is profound-
If you live in a poor, run down area, much as I do, can anyone explain how the situation will improve by destroying the few resources that already exist?
