RIP Graham Dilley

A real shock! I used to have a holiday job at a cricket ground and remember seeing Dilley play for Worcestershire in one of our Sunday games against Yorkshire.

How many more people did some quick counting on their fingers when they read his age…..

Very sad to loose somebody so young.

Also responsible for one of my favourite moments in cricket – Perth 1985 – Lillee bowled Dilley caught Willey!!

Not to mention the one that nearly did for dear old Johnners: “The bowler’s Holding, the batsman’s Willey.”

But we digress: RIP Graham Dilley – a player I often thought was rather under-rated when fit.

Perhaps history will do him justice.

RIP Graham only 52 what a shame! at least he lived long enough to see England Number one in the world again.

BTW that reminds me of that other classic “The Bowler’s Holding, the Batsman’s Willey”
