dark light

RIP Rolf Harris

Yes RIP Rot In Prison. Sky News has reported that they are investigating(or considering) another 12 cases of abuse by him.

I consider the molesting of children one of the most heinous of crimes that can damage a person for life.
I hope he never sees the light of day again.
I wonder if the Queen has had the portrait of her by him destroyed yet?

Operation Yewtree has certainly had some high profile convictions. Although unless there are more revelations to come,
it doesn’t seem as though they are spreading their net very wide. It only seems to be celebrities they are after ?, or is
it that those are the only ones the media think we should know about ?
What about those within the BBC itself, who knew what was going on, and maybe were themselves involved ?

Little has been said about politicians who were involved with Savile, including an ex-Tory PM who had a thing about
little boys.

I am aware of that so perhaps your word “genuine” is appropriate. He certainly never lost his accent despite leaving the country 60 years ago, so it was a successful act.
With more alleged abuse being reported both here and in Australia I doubt we have heard the last of him.

As for Harris I found his Oz bonhomie charm tedious but directed largely towards children, ironically, he established his place as a “treasure”.

He lived in Australia for only 20 of his 80+ years, and hasn’t resided in the country for over 60 years, so there’s not much genuine “Oz bonhomie” about him at all. Hopefully he won’t see freedom again before he dies.

You forgot Stuart Hall! Prosecuted and tried twice! And now perhaps further prosecutions for Harris.
As for the painting of the Queen – I thought it soulless and ordinary and if she has dumped it it will not be missed.

Even with parole I wonder if he will see freedom before he dies.

Is being an accused or convicted pervert a requirement for working at the BBC? 🙂

Jonathan King (convicted but maintains his innocence)
Jimmy Savile (post mortem accusations)
Now Rolf Harris….

Sorry I disagree with destroying art, any art, remove it from show yes, but destroy it no…..as for resting in prison yup, hopefully for a long long long time, though at his age anything over about 15 years is likely he will never see daylight again.. I do wonder the wisdom of further prosecutions and the costs involved if his sentence he receives will see him off in prison, unless it gives closure to the others involved and opens the way for them to seek compensation from his estate, though those in the Saville case I think could claim after his death.
