In today’s Daily Mercury. ( local paper ) 11/09/1945 a Corsair, ( 1 of 4 from an RN carrier ) crashed into the sea near Flat Top Island off Mackay. ( Very close to shoreline ) Pilot Sub. Lt. William Hardy RN. bailed out. No doubt the remains of the A/C are still there ? HARS. informed.
