RNHF Sea Fury at VLN – 21-05-06 (7 fots)

As I was in Yeovil yesterday, I made the trip to RNAS Yeovilton to see the RNHF Sea Fury return from Duxford.
Having driven from Hampshire in probably the worst weather conditions I have ever experienced, I was pessimistic of seeing anything.
However, as soon as we passed through the Somerset boundary the clouds lifted and the sun broke through.
By 1600hrs the skies were blue and the sun was shining 🙂

At 1605hrs VR930 arrived home, announcing its arrival with a gorgeous slow roll, before it joined the empty circuit and landed on Rwy 22…

This Robin was dancing with joy as the Sea Fury arrived 🙂

She’s actually a FGA.4, not 6. She was never fitted with the uprated engine, unlike WV908.

All the more reason to get her under cover (when space permits).
She must be one of only two Mk.4s left extant alongside WV903, unless you know different Lee?

It’ll never fly again as the paperwork has gone missing, which is a real shame as it was at one point a potential flier.

Cliff, all were taken outside the fence at Yeovilton, and were all shot at between 200mm and 250mm lens focal length on a Canon D60.
