1. A Sea Fury will be flying this year.
2. The Chipmunk’s role isn’t as a display aircraft; however, with VR930 out of action last year she was pressed into service to at least provide some sort of display from RNHF, and it also gave the pilot some good display experience for this year when he will take up the controls of the Swordfish.
3. Culdrose will definitely feature on the display programme, although as ever the actual participation is dependent on aircraft serviecability and the unpredictable Cornish weather!
All news updates will continue to feature on the WEBSITE, and a provisional display season programme will hopefully be uploaded in a few weeks time.

Nice to have the Seahawk back, was an excellent surprise at Shoreham last year! Hope we see the Swordfish this year! Also, it states that Chipmunk WK608 doesn’t do airshow displays but am I right in thinking it flew at Culdrose in 2007? Last but not least, are there any plans for the RNHF to fly at Culdrose this year? Thanks for the update, Cheers.

We continue to seek approval to get the Centaurus engine from VR930 across to America for Vintage V12 to overhaul. Chief Engineer Howard Read visited them in November and came away very impressed with their facilities. We almost certainly will need pistons and rings to be manufactured to effect the overhaul.
I’d appreciate some more information on the Centaurus, such as:
What’s the problem getting a Centaurus overhauled and running as reliably as a Griffon or Merlin? (Wasn’t the Centaurus of VR930 rebuilt/overhauled a few years ago?)
Isn’t a Tempest Mk.2 sitting somewhere in the U.K. waiting for its engine … 😮 … and has been for quite some time?
Thanks for your time,
Christer
