Just seen a red and white Hunter two seat fuselage road running south on the back of a lorry on the M11 near junction 12 (Cambridge).

Spent many hours sitting on the sand dunes by the fence watching the Hunters, Lightnings & Gnats, That was I think late 60s. David Sister used to give a display in a lightning on Wednesdays, I think he was probably training for a weekend show.

Correct T.O.
These Hunters were operating at Valley during my time there, although I never worked on them, I was given the task of clearing 2 crashed ( Mid air collision over Valley) Hunters from out of 14 hangar to the scrap compound once the unit inquiry had finished with them.

I believe that it was a representative scheme from its time in North Wales – RAF Valley, 4 FTS etc.

I saw her at Newark the other week. Her paint scheme did puzzle me a bit.

I suspect it’s T7 XL618 – left NAM this afternoon – noted in Briefing thread and here http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/Hunter_leaving destination Germany!
