Roadtrip through Germany (07/02/2015)

I had a one day roadtrip through Nordrhein Westfalia with stops at Düsseldorf, Münchengladbach and Geilenkirchen.

Düsseldorf

The main aim of the trip was to catch the first flight to Düsseldorf of the Etihad 787-9. I had seen several pictures of the new Etihad livery, and never really cared much for it. Truthfully, even on my own pictures I find the livery to be quite poor. But in real life it actually looks quite smart.

The new KLM livery I disliked at first but it is growing on me.

Another new livery. Not that bad, but the old one is much better. I think that this livery combined with the silver fuselage from the previous livery would work well.

Münchengladbach

Münchengladbach has a large maintenance facility for ATRs.

Geilienkirchen

Geilenkirchen is the main base for NATO AWACS’s and also houses several USAF tankers. Good shots from the AWACS where unfortunately not possible.
