Roadtrip, Trenton,Cambleford

Cees, I gave the old Hali a pat for you!

Had a great day yesterday with a drive to Trenton to meet up with some friends and then a trip to the interesting collection at Cambleford a total of 850 km’s in one day!

First up, Trenton, there was a banquet scheduled so I was unable to get too many pictures especially since I wanted to take pictures of the newly arrived CF101 which was offsite anyway:(
Enjoy!

Hey Deryck,

Any idea on what the traded for Expeditor they will be getting is like “condition wise”?

And I will put up my hand if personal tours are being offered of the Halifax 😉

Peter, I was in the workshop working on the Anson fuselage – glueing of course!
I did find the time to get a piece of cake.

Visit to Trenton.

Peter, you mean that you came into the Museum and you did not say hello to me! You could have had a personal tour of the Halifax and the area! I could have even added you to the luncheon!

I will have to check the pictures to see if I am in any of them!

Cees there is a mockup lanc rear fuselage sitting outside but it is made of stee; and cl;ad in heavy metal and would be extremly heavy to shift. Saying that though it would look awesome fully fitted out with a rear turret possibly skinned in aluminum as per the original!

As for the Hali , they are looking for a correct Trolly Acc if anyone has one spare??

Hi Peter,

Thanks for thinking of me:p

She looks good doesn’t she? Now all that hall need is a Lancaster next
to it so visitors can see the two most important bombers the RCAF went to war with (no not forgetting the Wellington and others, but where so you find one these days).

Cheers

Cees

Hi Peter; Last time i was there 1 CF-100 and a T-33
where at the back, the canuck looked like a MK1.
But i thought only the prototypes had the short
nose. This has to be the oldest one i’ve seen was
she a testbed?I really must get up there soon.:)

She is an early one for sure. I forget the number but the one at our Museum in Nanton is also an early Mark 3 I think

I was sorta hoping that the museum would change their mind and not display that early period of aviation powered kite/brass reproduction in the Hali Hall.

To tell you the truth I don’t really know what it is….but it looks like it is hanging in their now… 😉

Not sure how much space they will have once the Harvard and Anson are completed.

Great pictures Peter,

I see that they have moved some aircraft into the Halifax Hall.

Not sure if they really need to put the FSM model Spitfire indoors as I could think of others that could benefit for the space but I guess it does go with the Hali theme for the building.

The chippy looks pretty tidy under the bonnet. 🙂

Cambleford Museum

We were pressed for time so I only managed pics of the resident Tutor 114180 in the process of being paint stripped.
