Robert Oxspring's Spitfire X4170

Hello Chaps,
Hope you are doing well.

I am working on 1:48th Spitfire X4170, I do not have picture or references, only LZ-R X4170 but I want to add some victories markings on it.
Do you know how many victories Robert Oxspring achieve using this spitfire during Battle of Britain?

Thanks in advance.

YRobert Wardlow Oxspring was born in Sheffield on 22nd May 1919, the son of a WW1 fighter ace. He joined the RAF on a short service commission in March 1938. After completing his initial training at 4 E&RFTS Brough he went on to 2 FTS Brize Norton on 21st May and then joined 66 Squadron at Duxford on 17th December.

He was still with 66 in early July 1940. On the 29th Oxspring shared in destroying a He111, on 11th September claimed a He111 destroyed, on the 15th a Do17 destroyed and two He111’s damaged, on the 18th a Me109 destroyed and another damaged, on the 24th a He111 destroyed, on the 27th a Me110 destroyed and a Do17 damaged, on the 30th a Me109 destroyed and two more on 5th October and 13th October.

Oxspring was shot down by Me109’s over Tunbridge Wells on the 25th and baled out, slightly injured. His Spitfire, X4170, crashed into an orchard near Capel.

He was awarded the DFC (gazetted 8th November 1940).

From the london Battle of Britain monument website

The RAF record for X4170 notes it was with 66 sq from 29 sept until shot down on 25 oct which gives it potential for three of oxsprings victories

Thank you so much spadegrip and One of the Few for your answers.
Any idea how many kills he has before October 25th? This will help me a lot. I know this is not accurate but I just want to create a “personal” aircraft.
Thanks a lot.

Just checked my Aces High volume and unfortunately there are no serial numbers listed for the Spitfires used by Oxspring during the Battle of Britain. It is possible that his log book did`nt have them listed.

By the end of 1940 Bobby was credited with 8 confirmed and 1 probable kills, what date are we looking at for the model? Also is that the Spit he got shot down in ?
