Looking at the campaign to save Sheffield airport – there was this short extract that must send shivers to VTTS and the V.3 idea!
The number of flights leaving Robin Hood Airport has dwindled to an average of 2 – 3 per day, its passenger numbers have declined to fewer than 700,000 per year (less than 40% of the original projection), its location is notoriously ‘awkward’, it currently serves solely holiday destinations and its owners reportedly recorded losses of £11.4 million last year

Which just goes to re-inforce my views that the old girl should retire to Brunty or Elvington at least that way she can continue to stretch her lungs from time to time as well as her her legs i suppose? and of course just as british rail sometimes encounter the wrong kind of leaves on the line she may encounter the wrong kind of wind and get herself airborne fom time to time just like her Handley Page cousin!:diablo:
