Robs Lamplough's warbirds

I’m surprised I’ve not seen much on the forum about Robs and the warbirds he’s owned over the years. (Or perhaps there has been and I’ve just missed it!)

I only know of his Spitfire VIII (MV154/’MT928′) and P-51D Mustang “Miss Helen”, G-BIXL, but he also owned a Hispano Buchon (G-BJZZ, later G-HUNN and currently N109GU in Texas) in the early ’80s.

So what other gems has he been responsible for?

Somewhere in my jumble of pictures, I have some colour prints of the first post restoration flight of the Buchon at Duxford, I’m sure Robs was flying it himself and, as usual with those things, the landing was a bit dodgey.
This must have been around 1980, the a/c was painted in brownish desert colours, I’m sure it was without markings and was the first ‘Messerschmitt’ I ever saw in flight, don’t think I saw it again though.
If I can find the pictures, I will publish.

Here it is Pete,

TE566, MJ730, TE517 & PT462.

The ex-Lamplough Spitfire XIV, MV370, is at the Luftfahrtmuseum, Laatzen-Hanover, in the markings of 41 Squadron, EB-Q.

I think 370 ended up in the Whitehall Theatre of War, It was for sale at the Auction in Aces High hanger the day that Dolly the B25 arrived at NW

Thanks Mike,

Have you got any pics of the Skyraiders, as for some reason I didn’t get to photograph them.

I remember a trio of Skyraiders parked outside at North Weald in the early nineties which were something to do with Robs Lamplough.
