Roger Bushell & The Great Escape

Has there been a book written on this man that one can recommend here. In reading many bits and pieces on his life , without question an outstanding individual . Any recommendations Fly Past forum members ? Much thanks ! Remember the 50 !

Thanks and hope the project comes through…a much needed addition to any WW II aviation library…a rare individual who needs to be remembered. I noted on the fine Uk television series ” Time Team”… they had a great show on the digging up of Spitfire in a small French Village … and if I remember correctly the young British Spitfire Pilot was shot down on his first mission and flew in the same squardon as Roger Bushell. Hope the book come to use soon !

There is one being written by Jenny Schwartz but I don’t think it’s out yet. Meanwhile you can have a look at this pic, he’s fourth from left. Best Wishes. Robert

Yep that’s the one, I heard from her before Christmas and it’s not far off.

Not that I know of, however I do know of one that is being written and has been in the pipeline for a couple of years.
